The Teamsters Union has produced an update on the Continental/United merger with answers to frequently asked questions.
The Justice Department said Friday that it had approved the proposed tie-up of United and Continental airlines, after an unexpectedly speedy four-month review that paves the way for the merger to close before Thanksgiving.

The FSA negotiating committee met with the CAL negotiating team in Houston this week for the third round of talks. In this meeting, we passed 11 proposals to the company which constitutes virtually the entire non-economic proposal.

We were able to complete articles on Uniforms, Field Trips, Sick Leave and Occupational Injury, Filling of Vacancies, Seniority, Covered Craft and Classification, Part Time, and Reduction in Force and Recall. We will be meeting with the Company again the week of August 16 to present our non-economic package.
